Greetings, dear visitor. You have reached, Asphyxiation, a humble dedication for the relationship between Kamijou Hiroki and Kusama Nowaki, better known as the egoist pairing, from Nakamura Shungiku's series, Junjou Romantica. Junjou Romantica was one of the very first boys' love (BL) stories that I have managed to read but it is not until the egoist couple is introduced, Hiroki in particular, that resulted in my questioning of my own imparted beliefs. Egoist, in short, paved way for my love of the BL genre. ❤ To this day, egoist remains as one of my favorite BL couple of all times.

Asphyxiation explores the characters that make up the egoist pairing and the nature of their relationship. All information and interpretations are solely based on the manga and will contain visual references/aid from the anime for added aesthetics. ❤

Please be advised that there are unmarked spoilers across the site — up to the fan translated Act 17 of Junjou Egoist. JUNJOU introduces the series premise and the world of the couples within the story; it is the only section that is spoiler-free. EGOIST presents the individuals that make up the pairing. February 14, 2019: Happy Valentines Day! After eons, Asphyxiation is back online and is now at its new location! And a very happy 10 year anniversary to it (despite a few years of it being offline lmao) ❤ With it comes a complete overhaul: new design, tweaked existing pages a bit and finally uploaded the "rest." As of this update, I consider this site pretty much done. Unless Nakamura-sensei decides to do something big with egoist, there wouldn't be much more updates.
